Death by Timesheet: Corporate Hours, Judicial Decisions, and Golf Cart Tragedies
Something's seriously wrong with our work culture when investment bankers are literally working themselves to death. A Milwaukee firm recently forced junior employees into crushing 110-hour workweeks, resulting in hospitalization and organ failure. These young professionals faced 20-hour days and couldn't leave their desks even after pulling all-nighters without facing reprimands. This isn't an isolated incident either – the financial industry has seen multiple deaths linked to 100+ hour workweeks, highlighting a deadly crisis hiding in plain sight.
Meanwhile, our justice system continues to baffle with its inconsistencies. A 19-year-old college student who allegedly firebombed a Tesla dealership with Molotov cocktails has been released from federal custody despite terrorism-related charges. The reason? To continue receiving gender-affirming care. The judge overruled prosecutors who argued this individual posed a serious public safety threat, prioritizing the suspect's medical needs over potential community danger. This comes as FBI agents who participated in Black Lives Matter protests by taking a knee have faced professional consequences through demotions and transfers.
The episode wraps with a tragic story involving NFL legend John Elway, whose agent Jeff Sperbeck died after falling from a golf cart Elway was driving. The 62-year-old suffered a traumatic brain injury and couldn't be saved despite medical intervention. The incident is under investigation by local authorities, leaving Elway devastated by the sudden loss of his longtime associate. These stories collectively highlight how institutions, from corporations to our justice system, often make decisions that leave us questioning their priorities and values. What sports legend would you want to interview about their experiences navigating these complex systems, and what would you ask them? Share your thoughts and subscribe for more unfiltered analysis of today's most compelling stories.

Hello, good morning, happy Thursday. Here we are everyone. Yay, we are upright above the ground, breathing air, heart is beating, we are good, we're good, it's a great day. All right, we I need to hurry up and get on with it, because I have several stories here, Some of them I don't think you've ever heard of. Hopefully you haven't heard of them because I want to bring them to you fresh. Some of them you might have Now. I've already put them out on my X-Files. I've already had some comments on them. So this is what we're going to talk about Employees hospitalized or, excuse me, employee hospitalized, diagnosed with failed pancreas after US Investment Bank forced 110-hour work week.
Speaker 1:This is from the New York Post. I thought there were laws against this kind of forced working thing and this is an investment banker. Why do you need to work these ridiculous hours? Okay, I'm sorry. A Midwestern investment bank forced junior employees to work grueling 110-hour work weeks that resulted in at least two people being hospitalized, including one who was diagnosed with. Investment bank, based in Milwaukee, wisconsin, said they were assigned 20-hour work days and that they were scolded if they left their desks after pulling an all-nighter. According to the Wall Street Journal, this is insane.
Speaker 1:The report follows a spate of incidents in recent years during which at least two junior bankers, carter McIntosh of Jeffries and former Bank America analyst Leo Lucaness, 35, died after they were made to work as much as 100 hours per week. They died oh my gosh. Now they may have had other health issues. Mcintosh died of suspected drug overdose. Okay, well, there you go With. Lucanus suffered a blood clot. The death of Lucanus prompted scrutiny of Wall Street practices, moving some banks to institute tighter regulations, including caps on hours. I thought there was already such a thing as work, work hours and stuff like maybe that's because it's privately owned, maybe I'm just thinking about government regulated things or something. Maybe I'm talking, maybe I'm thinking about unions, I don't know. Um, wow, anyway, you can go finish reading that. We need to move on to the next one.
Speaker 1:Y'all, this teen charged in the tesla firebombing, released from federal custody to continue gender-affirming care medical cares report. Let me read a couple of comments I got already from it's me it's lori said so. Mentally ill person firebombs, tesla something that is putting people away for 20 years gets a slap on a wrist and prays for being mentally ill. We seriously need to bring back the nut, the nut huts back. And then, of course, uh, mr Sean's gave me an oh Lord, um, I forget the name of that character meme. Okay, well, let's read it.
Speaker 1:This is from the New York post. Y'all, this is insane, you know. I thought I thought, um, this craziness was over with the trans cult, but apparently it's not, because this guy gets a slap on the wrist and he gets released, y'all. I'm going to be graphic here. What? To be able to go home and insert a pole in the fake hole. Yeah, let's quote that one, because that's what they do when they get their cut off or whatever. They make a fake hole, and then you have to, um, insert I'm sorry, I'm being graphic to make it stay open. Oh my god, I can't, I can't. You can go look up that procedure yourself.
Speaker 1:The college student accused of fire bombing a tesla dealership has been released from federal custody to continue gender affirming care. According to a report, owen mcintyre, who's 19 years old, is facing federal charges for, if you will, for allegedly tossing two molotov cocktails into a Missouri Tesla dealership last month, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages to cyber trucks and two charging stations. The University of Massachusetts physics student was granted release by US Magistrate, judge Jessica Hedges. So let's all get on the wagon and call her out on social media. Just call her out, you don't have to do anything else. Jessica Hedges, I'm going to look her up Due to serious and ongoing medical needs, which include gender-affirming medical care that requires daily medication as well as mental health support. So see, there you go.
Speaker 1:This is all mental illness and we're just parading it out there like it's A-OK, I mean it. Just, it says it right there Mental health support. These people are mental, but yet we, we parade them around like they're gods or something, we praise them and we just, oh my gosh, I can't, I don't, I don't praise them. Just, oh my gosh, I can't, I don't, I don't praise him. Mcintyre is also on the autism, autism spectrum and was diagnosed with both adhd and depression. Look, that does not give you an excuse to go off and do what you've done. A lot of people have adhd and depression and they don't throw molotov cocktails at tesla dealerships, okay. All of which require medications and treatments that excuse him from remaining in prison. His lawyers successfully argue excuse him from remaining in prison. Bullshit, this is insane and I am outraged and I'm offended. Judge Jessica Hedges, who was appointed in 2024, overruled objections from the US attorneys from the Western District of Missouri, who claimed the terrorism-related charges warranted that McIntyre be treated as a public safety threat. Overruled the objections, mcintyre was granted.
Speaker 1:I'm not going to read anymore. Oh my gosh, you can go finish that. That is just outrageous. I hope this gets mainstream megaphone from all the bigwigs. And this is ridiculous. They need to recall this dude back to prison right now. He can get his gender-affirming care in prison. Trust me, I'm sure there's plenty of weirdos in there that would like to help out. Okay, I'm sorry, I'm moving on.
Speaker 1:Fbi demotes agents who took a knee during Black Lives Matters protests in 2020. Now they've not been fired yet. I wish they would all just be effing fired, but they've been transferred and moved around. You can go finish reading that story, because I am coming up on my time limit here. Let's see what else. Because I am coming up on my time limit here. Let's see what else.
Speaker 1:Oh, and John Elway, devastated by death of agent Jeff Sperbeck after a golf cart tragedy. This just happened the other day. Apparently, john Elway, they were playing golf, I suppose, or they were riding on a golf court where John Elway was driving and Sperbeck 62, who was 62 years old, had been on life support after he fell off a golf cart being driven by elway tmz, reported and suffered a traumatic brain injury before succumbed to his injuries on wednesday. This is horrible. This is so horrible, so sad. I mean what? How fast was he going on a golf cart where the guy fell off? Were they drinking with what? I mean? I don't know, I wasn't there and you fell off a golf cart. How can you maybe his head hit the pavement first? I don't know. That's horrible. I mean, how fast can you go on a golf cart? I guess they can go pretty fast, can they? I don't know, I should know. Maybe my, maybe my husband will know he's a golf person. There are no words to truly express the profound sadness I feel in the sudden loss of someone who has meant so much to me. Oh gosh, so it just goes on talking about how wonderful the guy is, how tragic the accident was. I didn't say anything about what has happened. Okay, the riverside county sheriff's office is in conduct. Is conducting an investigation into the incident after being aware of it on monday. Um is committed to conducting a thorough investigation into the death. Appropriate actions. Oh, appropriate action based on outcome? It wouldn't.
Speaker 1:A witness described the gut-wrenching scene in an interview. The witness, ali simon, told the outlet that she saw spur back lying on the ground as come. A witness described the gut-wrenching scene in an interview. The witness, allie Simon, told the outlet that she saw Sperber Beck lying on the ground as people surrounded him to check on how he was. It was so scary, yeah, but you didn't see what happened. You just saw it afterwards. Okay, we need to move on to the question of the day. Okay, if you could interview any sports legend, who would it be and and what kind of questions would you ask? They can be sports legend. Okay, that's the question Anybody. What sports legend would you like to interview and what would you ask them? Okay, that's it, I got to go Love y'all. Thanks for listening. Bye.
